The huge amount of effort by the contestants and volunteers to make the 1st annual IV Cellular Dancing with the Stars for Charity a smashing success was validated by the cheers of the sold-out Senica's Oak Ridge Golf Club ballroom.
750 audience members and about 100 volunteers crowded into the ballroom and based on face value, the event brought in an estimated $15,000, on top of the $3,000 in prize money IV Cellular donated. Money collected at the door will be divided among all the participating charities.
First place Winners- Mark Schneider and Grace Lethiot earned an additional $1,500, Second place- Fran Brolley & Melissa Burgett took $1,000 and Third place- Anne Duttlinger & Rod Schomas $500 for the stars' respective charities.
IVC's Dancing with the Stars for Charity featured nine couples performing two dances one traditional ballroom dance and a show dance. Partners were made up of one "star" from the area representing a local charity and one choreographer.
Thank you to all who were involved that made this a wonderful night. Without all the volunteers and the stars, who put in numerous hours to help it would not of been possible.
